Journalist based in Oslo, Norway.
My broad focus includes breaking news, international affairs and human rights, social justice, international economics, environmental issues and innovation and startups. I can deliver complete media packages with text and photos in English and Norwegian, tailored to the target platform and audience.
I have experience from Israel and Palestine, Singapore and the United States. I hold an Erasmus Mundus MA in Journalism, Media and Globalisation from Aarhus and Swansea universities, a Minor in Journalism from U.C., Berkeley and an MA Honour in International Relations from the University of Edinburgh.
WEST BANK, PALESTINE
In December 2019 I travelled to the Israeli-occupied West Bank of Palestine to monitor violations of human rights and international law. The visit gave me a unique glimpse of life under occupation, which I shared through a series of newsletters. I am now in the process of making these public in my blog:
In addition, me and my fellow observers from Norway have created Vestbredden: Live. In this initially live streamed podcast series, we discuss our experiences and current developments, including the planned annexation of the West Bank.
Professional experience
In addition to my current position with NTB and The Local Norway, and have previously written for Shifter and Transit magasin. I have also worked with press relations for Oslo Business Region for Oslo Innovation Week 2019, media relations for Norec – Norwegian Agency for Exchange Cooperation, and as a researcher and report writer for the non-profit organisation Changemaker.
I have also been a trainee with the Norwegian Embassy in Singapore and an intern with Nordic Innovation House in San Francisco and Silicon Valley.
I’m fluent in both Norwegian and English.
Academic studies
I am a graduate of the Erasmus Mundus MA-programme in Journalism, Media and Globalisation from Aarhus and Swansea Universities, where I was a top-performing student and recipient of the International Merit Scholarship. I also hold a Minor Degree in Journalism from U. C. Berkeley with a 4.0 GPA and an MA Honours Degree in International Relations from the University of Edinburgh – where one of my published student essays was listed on the curriculum of a module at Kent University.
My academic background has given me the knowledge and tools needed to locate, identify and critically analyse different types of information and write intelligibly about complicated issues – such as international law, global finance or technological innovation. My eye for detail and ability for independent thought makes me an ideal candidate for projects involving complex subjects where accuracy, truthfulness and an appreciation for nuances are vital.
International background
From having worked, studied and lived in nine different countries I have gained a unique and diverse international network, insight into different global, regional and local perspectives, and experience adapting to new situations and cultures.
